Funding Strategy for Puget Sound Salmon Recovery
EFC helped the Puget Sound Shared Strategy to devise a $1.2 billion funding strategy for salmon recovery throughout the Puget Sound region. The work includes the first systematic analysis of past and current salmon spending conducted in Washington State, an assessment of funding needs and priorities based on more than 60 interviews with regional and watershed leaders, and an evaluation of potential federal, state, and local sources of funding for salmon projects. The project is part of a collaboration among government, business, and tribal leaders to recover salmon that is the first of its kind in the Pacific Northwest . Sample products:

Fundraising for Environmental Projects in Seattle
EFC has helped the City of Seattle find funding sources for over a dozen projects, including habitat restoration on the Lake Washington shoreline, retrofitting of the Landsburg Dam for fish passage, reservoir lidding, and providing new sewers and low impact development stormwater facilities for urban neighborhoods. The firm's role includes identifying appropriate funding sources, developing proposals and promotional materials, and assisting lobbyists to develop and deliver the funding pitch. Expanding and Managing a Community Grant Program
Following several successful years administering the Community Salmon Fund in Puget Sound , EFC has expanded its contract with National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to offer the grant program in 17 watersheds across the state. EFC will work with new state and local agency co-sponsors to encourage strong proposals from community groups involved in small-scale habitat restoration projects, while managing customized project selection processes in each watershed. Writing Winning Grant and Loan Proposals
The last four years of helping agencies and nonprofits with funding proposals and applications, we have had a 70% success rate. We have also helped raise more than $25 million in grants and low-interest loans. This is possible because we know the funding programs inside and out, select those that best meet the client’s needs, and write very effective proposals. We are deeply familiar with all of the major grant and loan sources available to local governments. Following is an excerpt from of an application that we helped prepare for a neighborhood-scale low impact development project in Seattle :
