Lead Staff

Dennis Canty, President

Dennis founded Evergreen in 2001 after a 20-year career as a water resource planner, watershed coordinator, and program manager. He is a specialist in budget and appropriations processes, tax and fee authorities, and ecosystem markets. Dennis is also a highly experienced facilitator and an in-demand writer and speaker on environmental funding topics. Dennis leads Evergreen’s work on funding strategies and sources.

Susan O’Neil, Senior Associate

Susan leads Evergreen’s work on grant program administration, including successful grant programs for the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. She has a strong scientific background in conservation biology with an emphasis on endangered species management, recovery, and monitoring. In addition, Susan has experience with national and international protected areas management, strategic planning, and fundraising.

Associates

Evergreen project associates are drawn from the staff of the Cascadia Consulting Group, a Seattle firm with expertise in waste and recycling, climate and sustainability, and water and natural resources, under a strategic partnership between the firms.
